Geliga in Melayu language is one kind of jewel or gem, that shines and glitters. In Indonesian it's Mustika stone. This is the concept of Geliga band, they want to sound like sparkling singing bird. This is a unique concept, blending malay music form with jazz. They want to proove that this ethnical music can be accepted by the western listeners, and that jazz is absolutely welcoming all kinds of world music. Amazing album, amazing concept, unique music, absolutely recommend. :)
